THE BASICS AND BEYOND!
There will be seven hour-long presentations: picture book basics, writing query letters and synopses, the editing process, writing plays, revising/writing middle grade, and self-publishing. No matter where you are on your writing journey, this conference has something for everyone!
What is this conference about?
Writing for children is rewarding, but also very challenging. This conference is a great way to improve your craft, as well as learn how to write the best query letter and synopsis to get your story noticed. Play writing and self-publishing may not have been on your radar so here’s your chance to learn more about them. And finally, learn how to revise and edit–every writers favorite thing to do!
When is it?
Friday evening, Sept. 17, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday, Sept, 18, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, via Zoom. (ALL TIMES ARE CENTRAL.) *****See Schedule 2021 Conference for more detailed information*****
Where is it?
This conference will be held via Zoom. Links to the presentations will be emailed a week prior to the conference.
What’s it cost?
For Members: The cost for the conference will be $50.00. There will be a limited number of post-conference critiques for an additional $50.
For Non-Members: The cost for the conference will be $75.00. But you can join before registering to get the member rate. Click here to join SCBWI. There will be a limited number of post-conference critiques for an additional $50.
If you are unable to attend the conference live, recordings of all presentations will be available for one month after the workshop. All registered participants will receive the links to the recordings a few days after the workshop.
